I'm Torn, Too.
Alright, so is Gaius a Cylon or not? Just when I had myself convinced they weren't going to let Gaius be one of the models, they come out with an episode like this (which was incredible, in case anyone didn't notice).
I loved the way they played up the other 5 that "we don't talk about". Do our 7 revealed Cylons know what any of the 5 look like? One of my thoughts is that the other 5 didn't want to destroy humanity in the first place or were otherwise errant and cast away. Maybe they are one-body models, never being resurrected or recopied. Or, perhaps they have a fleet of their own, complete with women in bathtubs squeaking "Jump!". Even better yet, these could be earlier models cloned and altered from human DNA. Who knows? I'm thrilled about this new plot line.
Now, Gaius...there is something. After watching this week's episode, I went back and rewatched last week's. The previews at the end of the show included the scene between Gaius and his P-Six, or Projection-Six, where he asks, "Am I a Cylon?" This reconfirmed my belief that spoilers spoil things. I'm not sure what to write about the new character development on Gaius, other than it's not actually that new. He has questioned his identity in the past, only now it is based on more concrete facts from his perspective. He does projection, this thing standard to all Cylon models, to escape the world around him, make everything seem better. (Not to mention the fact that he was blown up by nuclear bombs.) The only issue with projection being a concrete fact is that Caprica-Six woke up in the rebirthing chamber to find a mental Gaius standing over her, and she seemed suprised and interacted with it. To adapt an earlier theory of mine, maybe it was some kind of cross-over in programming during the download process where the other mind was imprinted in the Cylon subconscious. The other mind would simply then play out in the projections, an experience that seems rather tangible. (Instead of losing his mind, this means that Gaius has gained an extra!)
As a different kind of tangible diversion, here is a picture from a recent family birthday. I got a kick out of this cake (decorated with a plastic bag with a hole in it, no less!).

Lee's vision in Resurrection Ship, Part II *could* be taken as a projection.
Agreed on the spoilage... with teasers during the week and during Dr Who, I didn't make it before hearing Gaius ask the question.
But loved the mysto, the squeaking bathtub woman/trade guild navigator, the 5 final models. So I guess we can assume the ships were never part of the list... though I enjoyed D'anna's comment... something like "tell the resurrection ship to stay away". Something about the way she said it sounded like she was talking about someone's dog... "better watch that dog or he'll jump in the pool."
So now what? This artifact is clearly not cylon nor the 12 colonies (Reavers??!). Which may mean we are about to encounter 13th colony humans or..... something we haven't seen yet... a truly alien encounter. It just now occurred to me... we've been out in space for 3 seasons and we haven't seen any aliens. Have to admit though.... aliens just seem really wrong for this series... I'll be surprised if we ever see aliens.
I still think Gaius is human, and with the conversation with Six now broaching the subject, it seems to me more likely that he is human. Also... he seemed to blurt that question outloud in the hallway behind Basestar Six. No way to know for sure, but she turned and gave him a look like he'd said something crazy. Also also it didn't seem from the conversation on projection that they project other people who are not really there. Could be wrong but that's my guess right now.
It's great... again. So say we all.
noneofyourbusiness, that never even occured to me, but it makes a lot of sense...
end of line
just a pun? It didn't say end of "the" line... just EOL.
she's theoretically a computer...in her dream she's stopped by a door that says
EOL... could it be a deeper clue? then she offs herself - and comes
back talking about a place between life and death? And the place
she saw...
Silhouetted in light - did it remind of the standing stones
they, Laura, adama etc. found from athena's tomb...that takes them to earth and shows
them the map. D'anna says it's something wonderful... or something
like that. And what we are watching is what she is experiencing
between dying and being reborn.
is EOL really end of THE line... or is it a door that must be crossed
by her... by crossing or opening EOL... by existing on the other side of EOL...
does she cease being a computer and become a true life form?
Or is the dream simply showing her that to receive her message
from god she would have to die and be reborn.
I need a bumper sticker that says "Born Again Cylon."
With regard to the ongoing name of this blog, I'm surprised that no one has commented on Sharon's new call sign, "Athena."
I nearly shouted out loud when I heard that... I felt like Moore was tipping his hat to this very blog.
(For the one person who may not be familair with the original series, Athena was Apollo's sister / Adama's daughter.)
End of Line not only appears on the door in D'Anna's dream but is also frequently said by the Basestar Hybrid. The place that she visited between life and death strongly resembled the opera house on Kobol. This time, there were five glowing figures inside.
So... When Lee is exposed to the Cylon virus, he doesn't get sick. Does that put an end to the speculation that he's a toaster?
Of course, Sharon doesn't get sick either, but that's because she had the only known human-cylon hybrid baby, putting her in a unique category.
Thoughts?
wow this is getting complicated. is he isn't he however the 'we don't talk of the other five' could be as they are more human perhaps could explain lees immunity alothough im amazed fantastic teaser athena apollo
